Bill Nace & Twig Harper - [last section]Bill Nace is probably best known above the underground for his work with Kim Gordon in Body/Head. This duo with Twig Harper (also of Nautical Almanac, rocking with an A-1 Warlock style vibe) dug deep into the subsonic magma and brought some rigourous walls of sound, pushing the Southern Cross' sound system to its limit. Nace's guitar work was very patient, with screwdriver manipulations giving way to meticulous string bowing. Harper, meanwhile, got on with some demon-summoning through treated vocalizations and twists of a homemade-looking synth box.
