Subcontracted to fill in on a Sunday night for Steve Ward, this was a sort of FASTER presents side-projects kind of night. The first set paired Brian Abbott with Nilan Perera in an encounter for prepared guitars. After struggling with a recalcitrant pedal chain, Perera eventually unplugged the whole thing, instead concentrating in the sounds he could wring out with his collection of bows, swizzle sticks and ebow. Moving from restrained feedback to ambient drift, there was a nice range of abstractions at play here.
