Contest: Somewhere There Music Festival

Somewhere There Music Festival

February 20-22, 2015

Now in its third year, the Somewhere There festival has become a bit of a summit for the local improvised/creative music community. There's five concerts, including two afternoon shows, and three of the sessions go beyond the music with talks from Weird Canada's Marie LeBlanc Flanagan and Allison Cameron (intriguingly entitled "Not Noise"), plus Nilan Perera's prepared guitar workshop. Music ranges from new-classical work from junctQín Keyboard Collective to the sci-fi squelch of Imaginary Flesh. With a varied cross-section of different musical practices at each of the shows, it's a great way for the curious to get their feet wet in a casual setting. Tickets are only $10 per show (available online or at the door) — or, thanks to the ST crew, you can also enter to win a pair of tickets to the show of your choice!

CONTEST

To enter, shoot me an email to mechanicalforestsound@gmail.com, with "contest" in the title and your name in the body as well as which show you want to see — or if it's easier, you can enter with a retweet on twitter or a "like" on facebook. I'll randomly draw a winner on Thursday, February 19th at noon.

N.B.: Hitting the "Like" button below is appreciated — and encouraged! — but does not constitute contest entry, given that I have no way of knowing who pressed it.
